Every summer it is the same. The weather pundits like to stir the u know what.

Last nite and this morning they were jumping up and down about the first named tropical storm and the rains and gusty winds that would flood Palm Beach out. Since we are in Jupiter and it was in the red zone on their radar we took precautions.

My wife canceled a lunch date with a friend she hasn't seen in a while as we both felt the rains would be hazardous, since as soon as it rains here people close their eyes and drive blind until they crash.

Then i closed the shutters 3/4 of the way to prevent the "typhoon" from wiping out our patio.

Then reality hit. There was a dribble of rain, a gray sky and NO wind. The avalanche was supposed to start at 1:00 and get worse and worse just in time for rush hour. It is now 5:45pm dry and calm. What will the forecasters say later? I guess that we were lucky. Better they should say collectively "we are idiots—hysterical ones at that!"

The biggest problem with them constantly getting it ridiculously wrong is that when they finally get it right we won't believe them, just like the boy who cried wolf. Then again hysteria keeps you returning to the news and weather channel and that seems to count more than accuracy.

Bye for Now,

A Very Dry Bill
