THE UPS AND THE DOWNS OF LIFE

Last weeks Time magazine had a cover story about the middle class taking a major hit. With just about everything up in price and some sectors targeting fees and charges to supplement fees and charges, it is no wonder, especially as salaries continue to drop.

There is this interesting quote used by FDR in his last Inaugural Address attributed to his Groton School rector, Endicott Peabody:

Things in life will not always run smoothly. Sometimes we will be rising toward the heights—then
all will seem to reverse itself and start downward. The great trend of civilization itself is
forever upward, that a line drawn through the middle of the peaks and the valleys of the centuries
    always has an upward trend.

I think this applies equally to our lives.

Bye For Now,

Bill
