THE VOODOO CEREMONY: Part II

When we returned to the hotel at about 2 a.m. I asked the desk clerk if I had a call. He looked at me strangely and said, "No sir." I didn't believe him. I knew my wife well enough to know that if there was a problem at the house she would call—even when I was in Africa.

By the time I got to my room the phone was ringing. "It has been resolved, but there was a problem at the house tonight," she said. "I know, I sent some spirits to help you," I responded. "And what kind of spirits have you been drinking tonight?" she inquired. "Cold sober I am—unfortunately," I said and then went on to tell her of my experience, at crazy-money long distance charges. Remember it was 1982. She told me that she had called because she was afraid the clerk would tell me she called earlier to get my opinion, even though she specifically asked him not to, and that I would worry. No worries when one is in tune with the spirits, rather than imbibing in them!

All of that happened just as I am describing and opened my eyes just a little to the spirit world and the like.

More on Wednesday so stay tuned—all three of you!

Bye for Now,

Bill
