THE POWER OF OUR CESS PART III

I spoke on Monday and Wednesday about the power of our histories. One of the things that has helped me to strengthen my Dam and neutralize the cess-based influences is my simple minded philosophy of Realistic Optimism.

In it's simplest form RO says, if it is realistic then be optimistic and hopeful.  Much research shows that the more optimistic we can be the better the outcomes in most challenging situations. Where cess creates inner clouds, optimism lets the sun shine in within.

You can read more about RO in my book, "How to Cope Better When Someone You Love Has Cancer," or in a reprint that Coping with Cancer Magazine published in their May/June edition that can be found at cancerville.com under articles.

Next week I will talk about what I have come to call Unrealistic Optimism.

Bye for Now,

Bill
