IN 1982 IWENT TO WEST AFRICA

Our motley crew studied alternative medicine and healing. We visited healers, psychics, herbalists, and even attended a voodoo ceremony on a Friday evening.

Acquete, the voodoo priest, glowed in the darkness as he was constantly in motion, throwing firecrackers and blowing perfume. Women, danced around to the rhythm of the drums until they fell down on the floor in trance, spoke in tongues to the spirits, and told Acquete what they had learned from the spirits.

At some point in this long evening ceremony, the drums lulled me into trance.  On Friday I will tell you what happened then.

Bye For Now,

Bill
