PRACTICING WHAT I PREACH

I want you to know that I do practice what I preach.  I use my philosophy of "realistic optimism" all the time. That means be optimistic when it is realistic to be so.

Don't be optimistic when you have drunk too much at a party and think you can drive home safely and without incident. Call a cab or phone a friend. John F Kennedy Jr. was not being realistic when he took his plane up that sad and fateful night. False and unrealistic optimism is inappropriate and can be dangerous.

But  optimism and hopefulness based in reality can be very helpful, uplifting and even rewarding. More on this tomorrow.

Bye For Now,

Bill

PS I am optimistic you will read tomorrow's post.
