I didn't want to get to this topic last week because of Thanksgiving. I needed to stay positive before the holiday. There is no way to stay positive when we talk about trust.

Trust is a confusing issue. We tend to project our own trustability onto others. That is our first mistake.

Most sociopaths seem eminently trustable. Their image is squeaky clean. Their reputation is holy. They surround themselves with the right people. They are very shrewd and cunning. They lie, cheat and steal in ways that are unimaginable to us.

Not all sociopaths are about money and Ponzi schemes. Think killers, rapists, muggers, etc. Sociopaths without a conscience are weapons of mass destruction.

Read or see the local news and  you will find them in headlines everyday. On 11/30/09 the Sun Sentinel said,  "Cyber Criminal Lurk Online". Must be the person who send me urgent news about my account  and my need to provide info immediately. Or the gal who wants to share 11 million with me...for a small fee. The good news is they are few and far between. The bad news is that they are.

Many years ago I said, "It is not paranoid to be paranoid anymore." That is more true than ever. Go boldly forward, but watch your back.

Read Harold Kushner's ( Why Bad Things Happen To Good People) new book, "Conquering Fear: Living Boldly in an Uncertain World."
